Copal (young amber)

Copal or Copalite is the term given to organic resins that are not old enough (ie younger than 100,000 years) to have fossilised & hardened sufficiently to become Amber. Copal purifies the energies around us & protects from harm. It encourages decision-making, spontaneity and brings wisdom, balance and patience. 

Copal is placed on burning charcoal, which produces a thick, sweet smoke. It is regularly burned for protection, cleansing & purification ceremonies. Copal is burned in a home after a argument to bring peace back into the environment.
